Introducing: Lavender Lemon Scones

Lavender Lemon Scones

For this bake box, I wanted a recipe that really evoked spring flavors. I love the bright, tart taste of lemons and the flowery, bitter taste of lavender. I think they are excellent complements and the colors are so striking together.

This Lavender Lemon Scone recipe is great for an afternoon at home. The recipe is so quick and simple! It’s perfect for beginners, or even a fun activity to do with kids. In about 35 minutes TOTAL, you’ll have warm, crispy scones and you’ll be ready for tea time! This Bake Box even include some jam to serve with the scones. I HIGHLY recommend whipping some leftover cream for servings as well. The jam and cream together with the scones are absolutely delicious.

Once you’ve got your tea tray set up, you’ll be ready for a good book…

The Echo of Old Books

Echo of old books book cover

The Echo of Old Books, by Barbara Davis is a book about books, which should be a genre in and of itself. I would describe it as a historical fiction romantic mystery. Read more about why I gave it 4 out of 5 stars in my book review.

The novel follows Ashlyn Greer, a rare-book dealer who is a “book medium” of sorts. She can feel the echoes of the books’ previous owners, and get a glimpse into their stories. When Ashlyn discovers a pair of beautifully bound volumes that appear to have never been published, she becomes obsessed. What she discovers is a tragic romance that she can’t stop reading.

The Echo of Old Books is the type of novel you can get sink into. At around 430 pages, it’s a hefty one. I love books about books, so this is a great addition to my spring reading list.

Lavender Earl Grey Tea

I love the tea pairing for this bake box! The Twinings Lavender Early Grey tea is so floral and springy with its bergamot and lavender. What a great complement to the lavender and lemon in the scones. So glad I found this!

I hope you enjoy your spring tea time! Check out my list of the best bagged teas for more great tea options.
